HAN requests Finance Minister to make special refinancing facility effective

December 23, Kathmandu.After meeting Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, President of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) Shreejana Rana has requested to make the special refinance facility given by the government effective.

A special request has also been made for the effectiveness of the special refinancing announced by the Ministry of Finance and the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for the most affected areas.

During a meeting with  entrepreneur, Finance Minister Poudel assured that the hotel would be able to use the electricity facility soon. In a meeting with the Finance Minister, HAN President Rana said that the hotel has been paying high electricity tariff from the very beginning and demanded that the state should also provide concessions to the industries.

She has requested Finance Minister Poudel to provide some relief as the hotel has to pay electricity tariff even after the hotel has been closed for a long time due to corona virus (Covid-19). HAN made a special request to Finance Minister Poudel to suspend the interest rate of tourism and hotels for two years and change the range of Rs 200 million through a semi-annual review.

It has been said that the bank has to pay interest in mid-July of the last fiscal year, but the provision should be made for 12 more months from July this year, maintaining the interest rate on working capital of hotels at 5 percent and increasing the limit.
